Style updates for WoltLab Suite 6.0
Tom
It has taken a long time, but now the time has come: A version for WoltLab Suite 6.0 is available for all styles. However, there are a few things to bear in mind when using the new versions:
When updating to WoltLab Suite 6.0, a style update is only possible from the latest style version for WoltLab Suite 5.5. This means that at least one style pack of version 5.6.x must be installed. Since there was a chargeable update in between, it may be that you have to extend your style license for a fee. This can be done in the license overview.
A new installation of styles from WoltLab Suite 6.0 should always be done via a package server as the required style packages are no longer included in the download and will not be installed automatically during a manual installation. If you still want to install the styles manually, you can get the required packages here:
https://www.woltlab.com/pluginstore/file/7679-dateienpaket-für-stile/
https://www.woltlab.com/pluginstore/file/7677-sprachpaket-für-stile/
You can then install the styles.
What happens next?
The available styles are only customizations. For this reason, not all new functions of WoltLab Suite 6.0 are supported, such as dark mode.
I have therefore decided to create all styles from scratch. This means that there will be at least one major update for all styles before the release of WoltLab Suite 6.1. in which all light styles will also receive a dark mode.
Since all this is a lot of work, the update for WoltLab Suite 6.1 will be subject to a charge. It is already foreseeable in the current development version that WoltLab Suite 6.1 will bring a lot of visual innovations and the majority will probably only become visible with the official launch.
However, with the updated and standardized code base, future adjustments and updates should be faster and easier to implement.
The "big" update will start with Nova, Base, Core and ShapeShifter. In addition, there will also be small updates from time to time to renew the rest of the code base and remove jQuery, for example.
What about the plugin store?
I will now gradually upload all the missing styles to the plugin store.
Will there be any new styles?
Yes, I am actively working on new styles. More information will follow in due course.
